and Changing Personal Payroll and Benefit Information
The UC Office of the President operates a secure website
that allows employees at all UC campuses to view and/or change their
personal payroll and/or benefits related information. This web page
is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week with the exception of
weekly system maintenance which occurs Sunday night beginning at midnight
and is completed by 6 a.m. Monday morning (Pacific time).
The following are examples of the payroll or benefit related information
that can be viewed and/or updated on this website, or printed from the website:

disclosure information choices |

Your Federal and/or State tax withholding information.
You can even get an estimate of the amount of your new tax deduction
based upon the updated number of exemptions or change in filing
status (single, married, head of household). |

Signing
onto the UCOP Secure Website for the First Time

Log onto https://ucfy.ucop.edu/ucfy |
| |
2. |
Click on "Forgot Password" |
| |
3. |
Enter your social security number |
| |
4. |
Click "E-Mail me a temporary password". Note the email account on file listed for you (it may be something other than your UCSC email address). |

5. |
Check your email account for receipt of the temporary password. The incoming message will be titled "Please open your email to continue." |

6. |
View the email message and the temporary password that it includes. Follow the directions contained in the email message. |

7. |
Return to https://ucfy.ucop.edu/ucfy and enter your social security number along with the temporary password. |

8. |
Click on create a new password. Enter your birthdate. Enter your new password. Reenter your new password again. Click submit. |

9. |
You will see a message confirming that your new password has been set. Click the continue button. |
Helpful Hints

1. |
To ensure that a change in tax withholding status
or any other change will be effective on your next pay check, be
sure to enter your update at least 10 days before your next pay
date. For example, if your next pay date is the first of the month,
complete your changes no later than the 20th of the preceding month. |

If you do not have access to a computer at work or
at home, self serve computer workstations are now available for
your use. A self serve computer workstation is located in the Benefits Office (2901 Mission
St., Suite A). In addition, any of the publicly accessible computers
located in McHenry Library or the Science & Engineering Library
(both on campus) may be used. The workstation located in the Benefits Office is intended to be used for changes to your benefit information only. If you prefer to complete a paper form, forms for changing
your tax withholding and updating your personal information (name,
address, home phone, etc.) are available next to the self serve
workstation in the Payroll Office. These same paper forms may also
be available in your departmental business office. |

Older versions Netscape or Microsoft Explorer or other browsers may not support newer features
used by the UCOP web designer. If you encounter problems accessing,
viewing or updating the data on this website, first try using
an different browser. If you are still having problems, check with your
technical support person to see if a newer version of your browser will fix the problem you encountered. |

for Yourself" website, where you can view/update personal
information, UCOP maintains two related websites. The "Your Benefits Online" is another secure website for viewing and updating benefits related information, e.g. beneficiaries. The "At
Your Service" website is not secure and contains
only general information about:

All of these websites contain links that will take you to the other websites.
To protect your privacy, personal information is available
only on the secure websites. If you log on initially to the unsecured website (At Your Service) and elect
to view personal information, you will need to log on with your
social security number or Logon ID and pass code before you will be allowed to view your personal
information. Note: The same logon ID and pass code
are valid for any UCOP secure website related to employees' personal
information. If you are in either of the secure websites and click
to view information contained in "At Your Service" you
will see a message indicating that you are leaving a secure website.
Click OK to be transferred. |
